Well, here he is 3 months and almost 13 lbs later. He is living up to his namesake: Asher means "happy" or "blessed" and he certainly is a happy one! More to come!
We fell for it :( The ladies from the hospital came around to our room to take an infant picture and we fell for it; I knew that there would be some catch involved and so I asked if we were required to buy anything. They said that the pictures would come in the mail and that all we would have to do is keep the ones that we wanted and send back the ones we didn't: the smallest package of pictures was about $13.00.
WHAT THEY DIDN'T SAY was that there was an $8.00 "handling fee" and that the $13.00 package was basically one 5x7 so if you "opted" to take the smallest "package" you basically buy one 5x7 for $21 and the cost of shipping all of the other pictures back. So we resigned ourselves to being suckered and bought the whole package for something like $48 for a few sheets of photos.
Welcome our new baby boy! Arriving at 11:12 PM on 5/6/08 (48 minutes earlier than expected- does that count as premature?!!?). Weighing in at a flyweight of 7 lbs. 1 oz. he's already shaping up to be an excellent eater and should be heavier than Samantha within the year :)
Christine started experiencing contractions around 5:00 PM yesterday afternoon. After some leisurely packing and finalizing of business, we dropped off overnight stuff for Samantha at Christine's parents and headed to the hospital. Checking in at about 8:00 PM, we were surprised to find that Christine was already 7 cms dilated. Shortly after she received her epidural and dilated to 9 cms. Everything was progressing quite well and then we informed the hospital that we wanted to donate our cord blood (actually, Asher's cord blood). Because the donation lady leaves at 11:00 PM suddenly we were rushing to get the baby out- the doctor was called, the water was broken, Christine endured about 5 rounds of contractions which lasted 10-15 minutes and then Asher was OUT! YAY, we couldn't have asked for an easier labor process! THANK GOD for epidurals!
Thanks for your prayers and support. God has provided for us in wonderful ways. Can't post video or pictures from the hospital right now but we'll do it once we get a good internet connection!
